Figured Bubinga Table Slab
Guibourtia tessmannii
This is a one-of-a-kind board from the equatorial forest of West Africa. Called by some woodworkers African Rosewood, Bubinga is a deep, lustrous, brownish-red color with a fine, darker striping. The figure makes the wood doubly beautiful. It is very hard and heavy and takes a glassy, smooth finish. Bubinga has exceptional dimensional stability that makes it only one of a few timbers suitable for wide, one-piece boards. It will make a stunning dining table, conference table, bar top, etc. This board has only been rough sanded on one face. Taken to a final polish it will cause anyone's eyes to pop. Kiln-dried. It has some natural flaws that were in the log when it was harvested. If you are worried about damage from shipping, for a small fee we can custom build a shipping crate. Note: This board weighs around 1000 lbs.
Due to CITES regulations, we can only ship this species to customers in the United States.
