Ivory This is a fairly rare wood from Southern Africa ranging in color from light pink to watermelon red. At one time it was described as being “rarer than diamonds”. It is very dense, hard and heavy and takes a very high polish. Beautiful for turnery, inlays and other precious items. We imported these squares from Africa in the 1980’s so they are bone dry. We offer these as they came-all with natural defects, i.e. knots, small checks, sapwood corners, not perfectly square, boxed heart, etc. But there is a lot of excellent, useable wood, and the low price more than makes up for the waste. #W11236A
