Panama Rosewood (Dalbergia sp.) Acoustic Guitar Back & Sides Set This is a previously undescribed Dalbergia (rosewood) species from an obscure corner of Panama. Only one small, expensive log was available and we took a chance by buying it. The useable material was quite nice with beautiful color and grain and a sweet, aromatic scent. We dried and sawed some guitar backs and sides out of one billet and it had very nice tonal qualities. Bee's-wing Figured Narra

This wood is also called New Guinea Rosewood. It is a beautiful, highly lustrous golden yellow color sometimes with reddish streaks. A nice turning wood it is also used in furniture, jewelry boxes, handles, etc. It is easy to work and glue and takes a nice polish.
