Panama Rosewood

Guitar Neck Blanks
This
is a previously undescribed Dalbergia (rosewood) species from an obscure
corner of Panama. Only one small, expensive log was available and we
took a chance by buying it. The useable material was quite nice with
beautiful color and grain and a sweet, aromatic scent. We dried and
sawed some guitar backs and sides out of one billet and it has very
nice tonal qualities. We also have some 1" and 2" lumber available.
The supply is very limited of this rare rosewood.

One of several rosewood
species from Madagascar. It has beautiful color and grain, a sweet
smell, and is very easy to work and stable in use. It is a very
close match to true Rio or Brazilian Rosewood (Dalbergia nigra)
and as such is much in demand for musical instruments, especially
guitars.
