Thai Red Narra
(Pterocarpus indicus)

The wood is hard and heavy, deeply colored, and has a lovely ring when tapped. A great turning wood, this would also be wonderful for musical instruments such as marimba keys, woodwinds, etc. Always figured on the radial surface.

Red Narra
(Pterocarpus indicus)

These were cut from a consignment of logs from S.E. Asia that once upon a time supported someone's house. The wood is hard and heavy, deeply colored, and has a lovely ring when tapped. A great turning wood, this would also be wonderful for musical instruments such as marimba keys, woodwinds, etc. Always figured on the radial surface.
