Called by some woodworkers African Rosewood, Bubinga is a deep, lustrous, brownish-red color with a fine, darker striping. The figure makes the wood doubly beautiful. It is very hard and heavy and takes a glassy, smooth finish. Kiln-dried.

In these blocks it is kind of a quilted figure on the flat-sawn faces and a mottled roey figure on the quartered surfaces. These large sizes are a rarity these days. These blocks are from timbers we imported in the 1980’s and the 1990’s. Well air-dried.
