African Mahogany Crotch
(Khaya ivorensis)

These crotches were custom sawn for us in Ghana. Some of these have extraordinary figure with a high level of chatoyance. In almost everyone the crotch figure has opened up and will need to be filled with a clear or colored epoxy resin, acrylic resin, or amalgam to give them a smooth surface but will be well worth the effort. These have been abrasive planed on both sides to 120 grit. Rare.
